Communities In Schools® (CIS®), the nation’s leading provider of integrated student supports, welcomes over 100 practitioners, CIS alumni, youth, and partner organizations from across the country for its Achieve In Life Summit, November 6-9, 2023, in Birmingham, Ala. This convening is designed to address the barriers that limit young people's success as well as explore opportunities to advance their upward mobility.

Participants will engage in interactive discussions and workshops, immersive site visits, and networking opportunities centered around the daily themes of Building Awareness, Advancing Equity, and Identifying Solutions.

“The summit represents a significant step forward in our ongoing mission to ensure that every young person has the resources and support needed to reach their full potential,” said Aisha Walters, organizer of the Achieve In Life Summit for Communities In Schools. “We're committed to supporting upward mobility for youth of all backgrounds, forging a path that enables them to rise and thrive, transcending barriers that stand in their way."

The choice of Birmingham as the location for this year’s Achieve In Life Summit is deliberate and deeply significant. The city is not only a place of historical importance but also a testament to the transformative power of youth activism and resilience. Representatives from local organizations such as Birmingham Public Schools, Greater Birmingham Convention & Visitors Bureau, Miles College, TechBirmingham, and the Office of the Mayor will join the summit as essential community partners and presenters.

Key summit highlights include:
