Anya A. Harrington is the Vice President of Marketing & Communications. Harrington joined Communities In Schools in 2015. As Vice President of Marketing & Communications, she oversees the development and implementation of an integrated marketing program designed to increase overall brand awareness and visibility of the organization through storytelling, PR campaigns, digital media and external engagement with key stakeholders.
Harrington is an experienced communications professional with over 15 years of diverse client work in public relations. Her expertise ranges from media relations and strategic communications planning to brand management and partnership development.
Grounded with a passion for community service, Harrington exemplifies her desire to help others as a cause communicator dedicated to empowering, educating, and uplifting communities through messaging and strategies that makes a difference.
Anya’s media portfolio spans across all mediums, including placements in Education Week, Politico, Washington Post, The 74, Hechinger Report, CBS Radio, MSNBC, Huffington Post, ESSENCE and Glamour magazines.
Anya is a graduate of Howard University with a B.A. in Print Journalism and a concentration in Business Administration. She received her master’s degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Georgetown University.
