Cleveland Teens For Change

The “Cleveland Teens For Change” Youth Grantmaking Board is an exciting opportunity for Cleveland County young people. This is a group of teenagers with a few adult advisers who make decisions about who gets money to turn their positive ideas for action into real solutions for teens in Cleveland County. The board is currently formed for the second year. They are meeting to determine which issues to focus on, and to form their RFP.

Here’s how it works:

  • First, youth-led groups from schools and community groups come up with project ideas.
  • Next, they fill out applications in which they say what they want to do, why it’s important for the community, and how much money they need to carry out the project.
  • Finally, they send their application into Cleveland Teens For Change. This board reviews applications and makes decisions whether or not to fund the groups.
